Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you don't have insurance, or choose not to use it, federal law gives you the right to know what your care is expected to cost before you receive it. Here is how that works at New Hope.

Under the No Surprises Act · Effective January 2022

What a Good Faith Estimate is

A Good Faith Estimate is a written estimate of the expected charges for the health care services you schedule. Patients who are uninsured or who are not using insurance have the right to receive one. Since our rates are already published (a free 15-minute consultation, $150 initial evaluations, $80 follow-up visits, and flat-fee immigration evaluations quoted at consultation), your estimate will rarely contain surprises. That's the point of how we price.

When you'll receive one

We provide a Good Faith Estimate in writing after you schedule care, within the timeframes federal law sets, and at any time you ask for one, whether or not you have scheduled an appointment yet. Keep your copy; it's your reference point.

If the bill is higher than the estimate

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. Your estimate will include instructions, and we would rather you call us first: billing questions at New Hope get answered by a person, plainly.
